Does anyone know where to find the YouTube button in this new setup?

Here is how to embed videos in the new Rich Content Editor.

Click on Insert on the menu >> select Embed.

Paste your embed code and submit.

Instead of embedding with the code, I like to search for the video. To get the "button" for YouTube, go to the plug button (Apps) and select "view all". YouTube is near the end. Select it and it will appear now as an option in the plug button for everything you edit! Search and embed as usual.

I didn't realize that you could only attach 1 file so here is another screen shot.

That is indeed a great feature Mary.  For some embedding is the only way if the video is unlisted or private.  I make my videos unlisted so I have to use the embed method.

Thanks for the posts.  They will be very helpful to a lot of folks.

One of the apps in the plug is "ChemType" if anybody wants to insert chemical formulas.

@aaron-garner

Okay, so now that I am "reputable", could you please tell me how to insert an image like a screenshot into the forum reply textbox? I tried to copy and paste but that doesn't work. Attaching them works but I can only attach one. Thanks

Testing pasting three images one after another.... Here it goes.

and now a second...

and now a third

Voila! It worked.

I think this with just copying a screenshot (snipit tool) and pasting it.

Google Chrome Browser/PC.

Now, I am going to try to attach more than one file in one post.

Let's see.

Capture1
Capture2
Capture3

 It worked!

Maybe it's a browser limitation?

Attaching multiple files worked like a charm in Chrome!

Steps:

1. Insert the cursor inside the text box.

2. Click on Attach Files, select your file, upload. WAIT!

3. Repeat 1 + 2 for the next image.

I can create a little video ala Aaron style, if needed, to demonstrate. Grin

Here is how I do it.  Edit:  I forgot to mention to first click on the "My Media" link in the lower left-hand corner.

Here is a quick video showing Vivie's way.  And I even used a fancy word, "contiguous."  Don't ask me what it means, I just know it makes me sound smart!  LoL

Thanks Aaron for your videos. Thanks Vivie for your instructions. I love the snipping tool. Did you know that if you set a delay, you can select drop down menus and they will be shown in your snip?

Okay, so you probably thought I am a complete idiot but if you are a "guest" like I was originally in the forum, you can only attach one file and you can't upload any type of media and you are limited to 10MB file size as an attachment. I didn't have the obvious "My Media" or "attach files" options.

before:

newbie

Now that I am reputable (that was easy), I can do all of those things!

Just wanted to say thanks for this post. I woke up to the new editor and was so frustrated I couldn't see how to embed things- I wouldn't have guessed to look for the "embed section" I appreciate your help on these forums!
