How do you want the presentation to appear in Canvas?  This may not be what you are after, but it's one option.  I was also able to create a PP presentation and have the slides all show up in the page window in sequential order.

Thanks for responding. I want to embed the slides right into my lecture page. The "fail" square picture I shared above actually had the embedded powerpoint right on my lecture page. It just disappears when I log off.

I do not want students to have to click a link or download a link to open the powerpoint. I want the slides right in front of them on the page. Then if they want to download, I place the the link there and they have an option of doing so. Hopefully this detail is helpful in solving my problem.

I can easily embed a youtube video right onto my lecture page. Why can't I do the same thing with a powerpoint?

I don't know of a way to embed powerpoint into Canvas, especially via office 365. That feature allows you to only insert inline links to your PPTs. 

I think you'd have to upload your PPTs into a service like Slideshare and then embed them into Canvas OR convert them into another format. I don't believe PPT's can be embedded in their native form. 

BTW - Slideshare allows you to get a free account, and once you upload your ppt's there, you can use Embed code like you do in Youtube. I learned the trick from Jim Marteney. They play like in youtube.

There may be other products like SlideShare. That's the only one that I am aware of.

Thank you for this video. I responded to Vivie above and linked two videos above about embedding powerpoint into canvas. All of the ways to do this you both have touched on. In fact, there are only 4 ways to do this. Three ways have been suggested by you both. The fourth way is to embed the slides right onto the page. Which can be done, but only if I am logged into office 365 do the slides appear and then disappear when I log off. 

Now, I am just wondering if we (Delta) are missing an element in our canvas system to do this. I know all schools have various elements of canvas.

Okay, if we cannot figure this out I am going to look at Slideshare and then last choice would be the "click preview" icon to view slideshow.

Nicole, I experienced the same thing.  I actually created a test page and logged in as someone else.  I could not view the files as I could logged in as an instructor.

I get obsessed with finding answers so I'll continue to see what I can find.  What you are trying to do can be done as shown by the two presenters.  I did discover that the embed option is only available when in the classic One Drive mode.

I am so glad you can see what I am talking about. So maybe it is the configuration of what Delta has to offer in canvas? I appreciate you looking into this a bit more. I will say I had a colleague help me embed the same powerpoint last semester, again slides directly on my lecture page. She is buried so I hate to ask her about it, but I will and see what she says.

I'm going to solve this or at least give it a shot - I may come up short!!  I embed Powerpoint movies, but I turn them into actual movies with narration and I do it with the standalone app.  This is already a learning experience for me because I don't use Office 365 in a browser.

Okay, I was able (or it seems) to embed a Powerpoint slide into a page so it shows up without having to leave the page.  I'm not sure if this is a viable option for you, but I think this could do what you're looking for.  I hope I didn't miss something here.  This was a great learning experience for me because I don't do it this way.  Either way, I think this is going to be a good option that I plan on using.

Edit: If you need instructions on how to download a PP presentation from your One Note Drive and upload it to Course Files let me know.  I didn't include those steps in the video.  You seem very savvy with this stuff, so I didn't go through that process.

Yes, Vivie I did exactly as your video instructed. The powerpoint disappears when logged off of Office 365. Even in student view, the powerpoint is gone. I tried this with Office 365 in my settings just as you recorded here. The powerpoint disappeared. I always use Chrome. I hate Firefox. 

Seemingly what you have recored here should work, but it does not. Again, I am curious as to why it does not work. 

I did do as Aaron instructed and the powerpoint is right on the lecture page so students can view it immediately without having to click on the link.
