  • Develop initial content: Homepage, Pre-Course Welcome Letter, Orientation Module, ONE (1) fully-developed content Module (including: intro, unit-level outcomes, instructor-created lecture material, multimedia, assessments, instructions).
Jan 30 – Feb 3

Preliminary Review
  • Preliminary review by POCR Lead and Accessibility Reviewer
Feb 6 – Feb 10

Review Team Assigned
  • Course Author makes changes based on preliminary review, if needed. POCR Lead and Accessibility Reviewer verify alignment of initial content to the rubric.
  • Review team is assigned and added to Master Shell.

Phase 2

6 Weeks
Feb 13 – Mar 24
6 weeks
Develop the First Half of the Course and Informal Review
  • Develop first half of the course following recommendations of review team.
    • Must include half of the course’s fully-developed Modules with topic introductions, unit-level objectives, instructor-created lecture content, variety of multimedia, and assessments with detailed instructions.
    • All content should be in the Canvas shell (as opposed to a personal document repository).
    • Copywritten materials should show attribution.
  • Meet with review team every 3 weeks or as needed to chart progress, ask questions, review course design.
  • Successfully complete 4-week fully online Canvas 2.0 training on the CVC-OEI Course Design Rubric.
  • POCR Lead and Accessibility Reviewer will conduct brief review to verify the above deliverables before the second stipend payment of $2,500 is made.

Phase 3

8-11 weeks
Mar 27 – May 5
6 Weeks
Develop Second Half of Course
  • Develop second half of the course following recommendations of review team.
    • Must include all fully-developed Modules with topic introductions, unit-level objectives, instructor-created lecture content, variety of multimedia, and assessments with detailed instructions.
    • Must also include Homepage, Pre-Course Welcome Letter, Orientation Module, Syllabus, discussions, rubrics/instructions, surveys, resources, several Announcements.
    • All content should be in the Canvas shell (as opposed to a personal document repository).
    • Copywritten materials should show attribution.
  • Meet with review team every 3 weeks or as needed to chart progress, ask questions, review course design.
  • Course Author prepares the course for formal review:
    • Remove unused pages/content
    • Run Link Validator and fix any broken links
    • Fill out CVC-OEI’s Course Review Prep Form and submit to POCR Lead
May 8 – May 19
2 Weeks
Formal Review
  • Meet with review team and give an overview of the completed course (30-60 min)
  • Formal review by assigned POCR Team
May 22 – Jun 2
2 Weeks
Author Aligns Course
  • Course author makes recommended changes to bring course into alignment
Jun 5 – Jun 9
1 Week
Verification & Sign Off
  • POCR Team verifies final alignment and signs-off
  • POCR Lead submits course to CVC for “Quality Reviewed” and “ZTC” badging
  • Final stipend payment of $2,500 is made

The above allows for no more than one (1) two-week extension to any of the above phases.  Course must be fully-aligned and badged by Jun 30, 2022.
